Google announced and gave details about the new version of Go Edition, Android 13 Go Edition. While the tech giant is preparing for the full version of Android 13, it also releases beta and side versions of the operating system. Now, the Android 13 Go Edition announced with similar features as the normal version. It comes with Material You, Dynamic Color, and more. Here are the details about Android 13 Go Edition.
Android 13 Go Edition has heavier system requirements
While the Android Go edition phones come with limited storage and memory, the new version of this operating system requires more power than previous versions. According to the claims, the Android 13 version will require at least 2GB of memory, as well as 16GB of storage, but Google launched the Go Edition as “built for smartphones with less than 2GB of RAM.” It means that the new phones will have to come with higher specifications.
The new version of Go Edition comes with several new features like the standard version. Google has made changes to the reliability, usability, and customization for a better user experience. One of the most expected features is Material You customization and wallpaper-derived Dynamic Color generating which allows you to pick one of four color schemes based on your wallpaper.
The update also brings support for Google Play System Updates (Project Mainline). This support helps “ensure devices can regularly receive important software updates, outside of the major Android release” via the Play Store.
Google also announced that “there are now over 250 million monthly active devices powered by Android Go” and most of these devices will get the new operating system update in 2023. Here are some of the devices that will run Android 13 Go Edition.
